How you can help

You can keep track of all the on-going PIP campaigns here. Not every campaign is listed in this section as they are constantly changing depending on what is needed. Nevertheless, the ones that remain constant are listed here. We encourage you to keep spreading the word about these campaigns and get more people involved. Every action makes a difference!

Here are some ways you can help:

1) Stay informed by joining our e-mail list: please e-mail mailinglist@presumptionofinnocence.ca.

2) Sign the petition to end solitary confinement and to respect the rights of detainees here.

3) Ask your family, friends and co-workers to sign the petition. A copy of the petition is available from the campaign.

4) Write your elected representatives and ask them to support the demands of the campaign. A sample letter is available from the campaign.

5) Pass a resolution in support of the campaign at your trade union, student union, community organization, etc. A sample resolution is available from the campaign.

6) Make a donation to the campaign to help us pay for organizing expenses. Please make cheques payable to “TCSW Canada” and mail to 427 Bloor St W, Box 13, Toronto ON, M5S 1X7. Please write “PIP” on memo line.

7) Organize a meeting about this issue in your neighbourhood, on campus, among friends and/or co-workers, at your place of worship, etc. E-mail us to suggest a date, time and location and we’ll provide speakers and materials, and help promote the meeting.
